Product Detail

The Airmar SS175C-0-HW is a high-performance depth and fast-response water-temperature sensor. With 1 kW power and a maximum depth of 152 m (500'), it's great for various fishing scenarios. The high frequency ranges from 150 kHz to 250 kHz with a constant 25° beamwidth, offering 100 kHz of total bandwidth from one transducer. It covers the popular 200 kHz fishing frequency, delivering superior shallow water performance, clear bottom details, and excellent fish target separation. The high wide beamwidth provides more coverage under the boat to detect fish in the upper water column. Its low-profile thru-hull housing ensures good resolution at speed when installed correctly. Made of stainless steel, it suits fiberglass, wood, or metal hulls, whether stepped, planing, or displacement. Recommended for boats up to 11 m (36'). Also available in transom-mount, in-hull, and bronze housing models. It features exclusive Xducer ID® technology. Airmar's unique wide beam and high frequency Chirp-ready transducers give you more boat coverage. The high band offers a fixed 25° beam across 150 - 250 kHz, resulting in excellent resolution and double the coverage compared to many high frequency narrow beam transducers. Ideal for both inshore and pelagic fishing down to 500'. Tilted element transducers correct for hull deadrise to ensure maximum echo returns. Specifications: Weight 2.7 kg (6 lb), Hull Deadrise up to 24°, Acoustic Window Urethane, Hole Size 98 mm (3-7/8'), and one internal ceramic assembly.

Using the Airmar SS175C-0-HW transducer is easy. First, make sure to install it properly according to the hull type and deadrise angle. It's important to ensure that the transducer is almost flush to the hull and the tilt corrects for the hull deadrise so that the ceramic element is horizontal for maximum echo returns. Once installed, it will start providing depth and water temperature information. When using it, keep in mind that the high frequency is great for shallow water and getting clear details, while the wide beamwidth helps detect fish in the upper water column. As for maintenance, regularly check the acoustic window and make sure it's clean. If there's any dirt or debris, gently clean it with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the urethane acoustic window. Also, inspect the housing for any signs of damage, especially if you're using it on different hull types. If you notice any issues, contact the manufacturer for further guidance.
