Product Detail

The ACR GlobalFix™ V5 AIS CAT I EPIRB with Return Link Service and Mobile App (Model 2851) is a game - changer in marine safety. Category I with hydrostatic release ensures auto - deploy. The AIS alerts are a boon for local rescue. With Near Field Communication (NFC) and a mobile app, you can access important data easily. It comes with a 10 - year replaceable lithium battery (replace 10 years after manufacture or activation). This EPIRB combines 406 MHz satellite connectivity with AIS functionality. When activated, it sends distress signals to the global Cospas Sarsat system and broadcasts AIS safety messages on VHF for nearby vessels. The Return Link Service gives you visual confirmation that your distress message is received, and there's a 121.5 MHz homing signal along with visible and infrared strobe lights. NFC allows you to monitor the EPIRB via a smartphone app. It uses GNSS (GPS, Galileo, Glonass) to get accurate positions worldwide. Once activated, it relays its position to satellites and nearby AIS - equipped vessels. Specifications include 406.040 MHz, 5W output power at 406 MHz and 50mW at 121.5 MHz, white and infrared strobe, and more. It's buoyant, waterproof up to 33 ft for 5 min, and has a 5 - year warranty. The box includes the EPIRB, Cat I bracket, mounting hardware, and HRU.

Using the ACR GlobalFix V5 Cat I GPS EPIRB is straightforward. You can activate it either by taking it out of the bracket and getting it wet, or manually. Once activated, it will start sending distress signals to satellites and nearby AIS - equipped vessels. Make sure to check the battery status regularly using the smartphone app through NFC. Replace the battery 10 years after the date of manufacture or after activation. Store it in a temperature range of - 22°F to + 158°F (- 30°C to + 70°C) and operate it between - 4°F to + 131°F (- 20°C to + 55°C). Keep it dry when not in use and ensure it's properly mounted in the bracket. If it gets wet, dry it thoroughly. The warranty lasts for 5 years, so in case of any issues, contact the manufacturer.
