Product Detail

The Arco Marine BI-0702-4 is an amazing inboard/outboard battery isolator. It can handle 1 alternator, 2 batteries, with a max capacity of 70A. It's rated for use with 10 to 350-amp alternators on 12, 24, or 32-volt negative ground systems. It comes with a regulator sensing terminal. Key features include: It allows 1 alternator to work with 2 batteries up to 70A. As solid-state devices, inboard and outboard battery isolators let current flow in one direction only. This means you can connect the alternator directly to two batteries without worrying about a higher-charged battery discharging into a lower-charged one. Both batteries get charged automatically according to their needs when the engine runs. When used with selector switches, you don't need to change the switch position to charge both batteries. The isolator proportionally distributes the alternator's output or charging current to the batteries regardless of the switch position. Note: Don't use this battery isolator on 12-volt charging systems with 24-volt trolling motors or newer outboard engines with rectifier-regulator charging systems. This product can't be returned to the original purchase point. Contact the manufacturer directly for any issues. Quick Guide (pdf).

Using the Arco Marine BI-0702-4 battery isolator is easy. First, make sure your system is a 12, 24, or 32-volt negative ground system with an alternator rated between 10 to 350 amps. Then, connect the alternator to the isolator and the isolator to the two batteries. Once the engine starts running, the isolator will automatically charge both batteries according to their needs. You don't have to change the position of any selector switches if you're using them. There are some important things to note. Don't use this isolator on 12-volt charging systems with 24-volt trolling motors or newer outboard engines that have rectifier - regulator charging systems. Also, this product can't be returned to where you bought it. If you have any problems, contact the manufacturer. For maintenance, just keep it clean and check the connections regularly to make sure they're tight and free of corrosion.
