Product Detail

The Airmar SS175C-12-HW 12d Tilt transducer is a great choice for anglers. It offers high wide CHIRP with Si-Tex 8-Pin. This model is a depth and fast - response water - temperature sensor. With 1 kW power, it can reach a maximum depth of 152 m (500'). One transducer provides 100 kHz of total bandwidth, covering the popular 200 kHz fishing frequency and more. The high frequency gives excellent shallow water performance, clear bottom details, and good fish target separation. Its high wide beamwidth covers more area under the boat to detect fish in the upper water column. The low - profile thru - hull housing offers good resolution at speed when installed correctly. Made with a stainless steel housing, it's suitable for fiberglass, wood, or metal hulls. There are also transom - mount (TM185HW), in - hull (M285HW), and bronze housing (B175HW) models available. It features exclusive Xducer ID® technology. Airmar's unique wide beam, high frequency Chirp - ready transducers provide more coverage under the boat. The high band operates from 150 to 250 kHz with a fixed 25° beam, resulting in superior resolution. The constant wide beamwidth gives twice the coverage and excellent fish arches on the display compared to most high frequency narrow beam transducers. It's ideal for both inshore and pelagic fishing down to 500'. Tilted element transducers correct for hull deadrise and orient the ceramic element horizontally for maximum echo returns. Specifications: Weight is 2.7 kg (6 lb), hull deadrise up to 24°, acoustic window is urethane, hole size is 98 mm (3 - 7/8'), and it has one internal ceramic assembly.

Using this Airmar transducer is easy. First, decide which type of mount suits your boat - thru - hull, transom - mount, or in - hull. When installing the thru - hull model, make sure to drill a 98 mm (3 - 7/8') hole and install it almost flush to the hull. The tilt of the element will correct for the hull deadrise and ensure good echo returns. Connect it to your Humminbird or Si - Tex device using the appropriate pins. When fishing, you'll notice the high - frequency performance gives you clear views of the bottom and fish targets, especially in shallow water. The wide beamwidth helps you detect fish in the upper water column. For maintenance, keep the transducer clean. You can use a soft cloth to wipe it down after each use. Avoid using harsh chemicals on the urethane acoustic window. Check the housing regularly, especially if you have a stainless steel or bronze one, for any signs of corrosion. If you're on a boat with a hull deadrise of up to 24°, this transducer will work well. But always make sure the installation is correct for the best results.
