Using these Ancor heatshrink butt connectors is easy. First, make sure your wires are clean and within the 16 - 14 gauge range. Slide the connector over the ends of the wires you want to join. Then, use a heat source like a heat gun to apply heat evenly to the connector. Once it reaches 257°F (125°C), it will start to shrink and the adhesive inside will activate, creating a strong, watertight seal. When using the heat gun, keep it moving to avoid overheating a single spot. As for maintenance, these connectors are pretty low - maintenance. Just keep them in a dry place away from extreme temperatures. Since they're tinned and made of pure copper, they're resistant to corrosion, but try to avoid exposing them to harsh chemicals for long periods.
