Product Detail

The Ble Sea Systems 285-Series 100A panel-mount circuit breaker, model 7087-BSS, is a great choice. It can directly replace 185-Series circuit breakers. The visible reset lever clearly shows the open condition. It's ignition protected, making it safe for gasoline-powered boats and meeting SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements. It's weather-resistant and combines switching and circuit breaker functions in one unit (but don't use it as a switch for high inrush currents). It's 'Trip Free', meaning it can't be held closed after tripping. Specifications include 100A amperage, 48V DC maximum voltage, surface mounting, a thermally responsive bi-metal blade, 60 in-lb (6.78 Nm) terminal stud torque, 3000A interrupt capacity at 48V, an operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, Type III circuit breaker class, and M6 terminal studs that accept 1/4' ring terminals.

Using this Blue Sea 285-Series circuit breaker is straightforward. First, make sure to mount it on a surface properly according to the specified mounting type. When installing, ensure the terminal studs are tightened to the recommended torque of 60 in-lb (6.78 Nm). You can use 1/4' ring terminals with the M6 terminal studs. The breaker will automatically trip if there's an over - current situation, and the visible reset lever will show it's open. Just reset it manually when needed. Remember, don't use it as a switch where high inrush currents are expected. Keep it in a dry environment as it's weather - resistant but still best to avoid extreme conditions. Check the breaker regularly for any signs of damage, especially if it has tripped multiple times. Also, make sure the operating temperature stays within the - 40°C to 85°C range for optimal performance.
