Product Detail

The BEP 701S Mini Battery Selector Switch is the market's most compact option. It offers a simple and cost - effective way to separate two batteries, even though BEP recommends isolated battery systems as per our distribution clusters. The switch undergoes BEP Marine Battery Switch Test Procedures (UL 1107), including continuous (1 hour), intermittent (5 minutes), and cranking (engine starting - 10 seconds) tests. The goal is to find the maximum current it can handle without the rear terminals exceeding 100°C (212°F) above ambient temperature. Continuous and intermittent ratings are tested at 110% of specified ratings, and all BEP switches are independently tested by a third - party lab. It has the same dimensions as the 701, with removable side plates and a back cover. Note that selector switches won't protect electronics from harmful engine starting spikes. It features tin - plated copper studs and nuts and is ignition - protected. Warning: This product can expose you to chemicals like di(2 - ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), known in California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more info, go to P65Warnings.ca.gov. Quick Guide (pdf). Owner's Manual (pdf).

Using the BEP 701S Mini Battery Selector Switch is straightforward. First, make sure your batteries are properly connected to the switch's terminals. When you need to separate two batteries, just use the switch to do so. However, remember that it won't protect your electronics from engine starting spikes, so you might need additional protection for sensitive devices. As for maintenance, check the tin - plated copper studs and nuts regularly to make sure they're tight and in good condition. Keep the switch clean and dry. Also, be aware that this product contains chemicals that can be harmful, so handle it with care. If you have any concerns about its safety, visit P65Warnings.ca.gov for more information.
