The Attwood PowerBase Antenna is an intelligent, automated folding antenna base. It's white and allows you to easily stow and deploy lights and antennas with just a button press. This is the only intelligent light/antenna with object - detection technology. The SafeGuard Breakaway feature ensures that in case of an impact, the powerbase safely returns to a stowed position, protecting your fiberglass top. The SmartDeploy Backdrive senses obstructions during deployment and reverses the light/antenna back to its starting point. It's designed for hassle - free installation and operation, from the assembly line to the marina. With standardized mounting patterns, it offers upgradeability, and intuitive control has no switch limitations. It's compatible with leading industry equipment, suitable for antennas up to 8 ft long and all leading 1 - 1/4' threaded VHF Antennas (8ft or less). You'll need some tools for installation, like 7/32” & 3/4” drill bits, a #2 Phillips driver, marine - grade sealant, PTFE lubricant, 2x 1 - 1/4” fender washers, 10 - 24 nuts (for through - hole mounting), a 2 - position SPST switch (with LED backlight), and note that the PowerBase Antenna itself is not included.
Using the Attwood PowerBase Antenna is easy. Just press a button to stow or deploy your lights and antennas. When installing, make sure to use the required tools like the drill bits, Phillips driver, and sealant. For through - hole mounting, don't forget the nuts and fender washers. Also, get a 2 - position SPST switch with an LED backlight. During use, the object - detection technology will keep things safe. If there's an impact, the SafeGuard Breakaway will return the powerbase to a stowed position. And if deployment is blocked, the SmartDeploy Backdrive will reverse it. To maintain it, use PTFE lubricant regularly. Keep it clean and check the mounting regularly to ensure it stays secure. Remember, the PowerBase Antenna itself isn't included in the package, so you'll need to get it separately if you don't have one already.
