Product Detail

The ANDERSEN Variable - speed Compact Motor™ is a top - notch choice for 40ST winches. It comes in two versions: Below Deck, with a more compact design than standard motors, and Above Deck, perfect for deck or mast installation. This motor is highly efficient, boasting an impressive line speed and excellent maximum load. Installation is a breeze, showing why ANDERSEN Products stand out. Built on a new commutator principle without carbon brushes, it almost eliminates wear and tear. It also consumes 30 - 50% less power than conventional electric motors. The electric conversion kits come mounted on a stainless - steel winch/deck connection plate and include everything you need for DIY installation, such as an installation manual, switches, and cable terminals. Important note: Mounting an Above Deck Compact Motor™ winch on a vertical surface isn't recommended as it exposes the motor to moisture and water, which may cause non - warranty damage. The motor/gearbox of Above Deck motors is more exposed compared to below - deck installations. Protect the unit from unnecessary exposure and perform regular seasonal maintenance, like lubricating the motor shaft seal. Before ordering, contact us to ensure your Andersen Winch is compatible with this kit. Check the Winch Product Version Number stamped on the top side of the deck flange (you'll find it after removing the polished winch drum).

Using this ANDERSEN motor conversion kit is quite straightforward. First, make sure your Andersen Winch is compatible with the kit by checking the version number stamped on the deck flange. The kit comes with an installation manual, switches, and cable terminals, so you can do the DIY installation easily. For Below Deck installation, enjoy the benefit of a more protected motor due to its compact design. If you choose Above Deck installation, avoid mounting it on a vertical surface as it can lead to moisture and water issues. To keep your motor in good shape, perform regular seasonal maintenance. This includes lubricating the motor shaft seal. When the motor isn't in use, especially on commercial or military vessels, it's a good idea to cover the exposed equipment to protect it from heavy spray and other elements. Your yacht's equipment deserves the same care.
