Product Detail

Airmar SS175C-12-M 12d Tilt Medium CHIRP Sensor

This high - performance sensor without a connector is a great choice for boaters.

Model: SS175C-12-M

  • It serves as both a depth and water - temperature sensor.
  • With 1 kW power, it can reach a maximum depth of 457 m (1500').
  • The medium frequency ranges from 85 kHz to 135 kHz, with a beamwidth of 16° to 11°.
  • One transducer offers a 50 kHz total bandwidth.
  • Medium frequency ensures excellent performance from shallow to mid - depth, clear bottom details, and good fish target separation.
  • It's suitable for boats up to 11 m (36') in size.
  • There's also a bronze - housing version (B175M) available.
  • It features the exclusive Xducer ID® technology.

The medium frequency provides the perfect balance of boat coverage, extended depth range, and clear target returns in mid to deep waters. Operating at 85 - 135 kHz, it can detect fish at medium depths (up to 1500') with ultra - clear target resolution.

The tilted element in the transducer is fixed at a 20°, 12°, or 0° angle. When installed almost flush to the hull, the tilt compensates for the hull deadrise, orienting the ceramic element horizontally for maximum echo returns.

Using this Airmar SS175C - 12 - M sensor is easy. First, find a suitable location on your boat's hull up to 11 m long. Make sure the hull deadrise is up to 24°. Drill a 98 mm hole as required. Install the sensor almost flush to the hull, and the 12d tilt will adjust for the hull deadrise. When using, it will start measuring depth and water temperature right away. It can show you fish at medium depths up to 1500'. For maintenance, keep the acoustic window (made of urethane) clean. Avoid hitting the sensor hard as it has an internal ceramic assembly. If you have the bronze - housing version, check for any signs of corrosion regularly. With proper use and care, this sensor will serve you well for a long time.
