Product Detail

The Airmar SS175C-12-L 12d Tilt Low CHIRP transducer with Navico 9-Pin is a top - choice for smaller boats up to 11 m (36'). It's a depth and fast - response water - temperature sensor with 1 kW power. With a low frequency range from 40 kHz to 60 kHz, it offers great deep - water performance up to 762 m (2500') with a 32° to 21° beamwidth. The high - performance, low - profile thru - hull stainless - steel housing is suitable for stepped, planing or displacement hulls in fiberglass, wood or metal. It also comes in a bronze housing (B175L) for fiberglass and wood hulls. Its exclusive Xducer ID® technology adds to its appeal. The low - profile Chirp - ready design is perfect for center consoles. The tilted element, fixed at a 12° angle, corrects for hull deadrise up to 24°, ensuring maximum echo returns and accurate depth readings. It has a 2.7 kg (6 lb) weight, a urethane acoustic window, and requires a 98 mm (3 - 7/8') hole size. It features seven internal broadband ceramic assemblies.

Using this Airmar transducer is quite straightforward. First, make sure your boat size is up to 11 m (36') as recommended. When installing, ensure the transducer is almost flush to the hull. The tilted element is set at a 12° angle to correct for the hull deadrise, so it should face the right direction for accurate depth readings. For maintenance, keep the acoustic window (urethane) clean. Avoid scratching it as it can affect performance. Check the housing regularly, especially if you're using it on different types of hulls. If you notice any signs of damage to the stainless - steel or bronze housing, get it inspected. Also, be careful with the Navico 9 - Pin connection to prevent any loose connections. This will help ensure the transducer continues to provide accurate depth and water - temperature readings.
