Blue Sea Systems 285-Series 100A Surface-Mount Circuit Breaker

Model: 7187-BSS
This circuit breaker is a direct replacement for 185-Series ones. It has a visible reset lever that shows when it's open. It's ignition protected, making it safe for gasoline-powered boats. It meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection standards and is weather-resistant. It combines switching and circuit breaker functions in one unit, but don't use it as a switch for high inrush currents. It's 'Trip Free', so it can't be held closed after tripping.

Using this Blue Sea 285-Series circuit breaker is easy. First, mount it on a surface as it's a surface-mount type. Make sure to follow the torque requirements for the terminal stud, which is 50 in-lb (5.65 Nm). When it comes to operation, it combines switching and circuit breaker functions in one unit. But remember, don't use it as a switch when there are high inrush currents. If it trips, the visible reset lever will show the open condition. You can then manually reset it. As for maintenance, since it's weather-resistant, it can handle different environmental conditions. However, keep an eye on the operating temperature range of -40° C to 85° C. If it goes outside this range, the performance might be affected. Also, because it's ignition protected and meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements, it's safe for gasoline-powered boats, but still follow all safety protocols during installation and use.
