When submerged in water between 5 - 13 ft. (1.5 - 4 m), the HydroFix™ disengages the rod, letting the Category 1 bracket release the EBIRB. ACR's patent - pending release rod system doesn't rely on a battery, sharp blade, or pyrotechnic device. This makes it individually tested and the most reliable HRU in emergencies. All HydroFix™ units meet the high - quality standards ACR has maintained for 50 years. It's part of the standard replacement kit for many EPIRBs and brackets like Satellite 406™, Satellite2 406™, RapidFix™ 406, GlobalFix™ 406, Sea Shelter™ and Sea Shelter™2 (not for RLB - 23 406 EPIRB with fully enclosed bracket).

How to use: Simply submerge the device in water between 5 and 13 feet (1.5 - 4 meters). The HydroFix™ will automatically disengage the rod, and the Category 1 bracket will release the EBIRB. Note: This product is not for use with the RLB - 23 406 EPIRB that has a fully enclosed bracket. Maintenance: Keep the unit clean and store it in a dry place. ACR tests all HydroFix™ units to high standards, but it's still a good idea to check it regularly for any signs of damage.
