Product Detail

The Ble Sea Systems 285-Series 60A Circuit Breaker is a panel - mount device (Model: 7084 - BSS). It can replace 185 - Series Circuit Breakers easily. The visible reset lever clearly shows the open condition. It's ignition - protected, making it safe for installation on gasoline - powered boats and meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements. This weather - resistant breaker combines switching and circuit breaker functions in one unit, but don't use it as a switch for high inrush currents. It's 'Trip Free', so it can't be held closed after tripping. Specifications include 60A amperage, 48V DC maximum voltage, surface mounting, a thermally responsive bi - metal blade, 60 in - lb (6.78 Nm) terminal stud torque, 3000A interrupt capacity at 48V, an operating temperature range from - 40°C to 85°C, Type III circuit breaker class, and M6 terminal studs that accept 1/4' ring terminals.

Using this Blue Sea 285 - Series 60 Amp Circuit Breaker is quite straightforward. First, make sure to mount it on a suitable surface as it's a surface - mount device. Connect the wires to the M6 terminal studs, which can accept 1/4' ring terminals. When installing, ensure the torque of the terminal studs is set to 60 in - lb (6.78 Nm). This breaker is designed for boats, especially gasoline - powered ones, but don't use it as a switch in situations with high inrush currents. If the breaker trips, the visible reset lever will show the open condition. Just reset it manually when the issue is resolved. Regarding maintenance, keep it in a dry place as it's weather - resistant but still needs protection from extreme conditions. Check the breaker periodically to make sure it's functioning properly, especially if it operates near its maximum temperature range of 85°C or minimum of - 40°C.
