Product Detail

The 187-Series Thermal Circuit Breakers are surface-mounted and come with a 30 Amp capacity. Product number is 7136. Key features include combining switching and circuit protection in one device. All components meet SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements. It has a clear single-lever operation and a 'Trip Free' design that won't stay 'ON' during a fault current. It's waterproof with recessed mounting holes for a clean look. The large clearance around terminal studs can accept heavy gauge wire lugs, and the robust 5/16 terminals provide high torque connections. The large lever with vertical/horizontal orientation shows the trip status. It's ignition protected, making it safe for gasoline-powered boats. Circuit breaker class is Type III - Switchable / Manual Reset - Trip Free. It uses a thermally responsive bi-metal blade and has a thermoset polyester case. Voltage rating is 48 Volts DC maximum. Interrupt ratings are 5,000 Amperes @12 Volts DC, 3,000 Amperes @24 Volts DC, and 1,500 Amperes @42 Volts DC. Operating temperature range is -25°C to +82°C. WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals like di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (dehp) which may cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more info, go to P65Warnings.ca.gov. Specifications: Amperage is 30a, box dimensions are 3'H x 4'W x 6'L and it weighs 0.4 lbs, UPC is 632085171360.

Using this Blue Sea 7136 circuit breaker is quite straightforward. First, make sure the power is off before installation. Mount it on a surface using the recessed mounting holes for a neat look. Connect heavy gauge wire lugs to the terminal studs with large clearance. The single lever is easy to operate - just flip it to turn the circuit on or off. The lever also shows the trip status. When the circuit has a fault current, the 'Trip Free' design will automatically turn it off. Keep in mind that this breaker is for DC circuits with a maximum voltage of 48 Volts. It's designed to work in an operating temperature range of -25°C to +82°C, so don't use it in extreme temperatures. Also, be aware that this product contains chemicals that may be harmful. Check P65Warnings.ca.gov for more information. For maintenance, regularly check the connections to make sure they are tight and the breaker is clean. If it trips frequently, there may be an issue with the circuit that needs to be fixed.
