AISnet AIS Base Station - Ideal for Home or Office
The AISnet is an innovative AIS receiver perfect for use as an AIS base station at home or in the office. It uses the same top - notch dual - channel AIS receiver as other Digital Yacht products. With an ethernet socket, you can easily connect it to your broadband router and send AIS data to online AIS tracking services.
There are numerous internet - based websites that show AIS - equipped vessels on a background chart. You can check the position and identity of ships and yachts. If your home or office is near the coast and you want to contribute your data, just register with the company, and they'll give you an IP address and Port number.
Using the free setup program from Digital Yacht, you can quickly program the IP address and Port into the AISnet. It'll then start sending your local AIS data over the internet to be shown on the site.
You can also view the data collected by AISnet on your PC using the free SmarterTrack Lite software included. Just plug the USB connector into your PC, and the AIS data will appear while still being sent over the internet.
The AISnet comes with a universal UK/Euro/US mains adaptor that provides a stable 12v supply from 240v/110v AC mains.

Using the AISnet AIS Base Station is easy. First, if you want to send data to an online AIS tracking service, connect the device to your broadband router via the ethernet socket. Register with the relevant company to get an IP address and Port number. Then, use the free setup program from Digital Yacht to enter these details into the AISnet. It will start sending data right away. To view the data on your PC, just plug the USB connector into your PC and use the free SmarterTrack Lite software. When it comes to power, use the included universal UK/Euro/US mains adaptor. Make sure to place the device in a location where it can receive a good signal.
